New Star Eligibility Requirements

New York State has issued new requirements for homeowners to receive the Basic STAR exemption. To qualify for the Basic STAR, the property must be your primary residence and your annual household income must be $500,000 or less. If you received a letter requesting information to verify your income for the STAR exemption, the form must be returned to the Assessor before Taxable Status Day on June 1st. The required form is
