Comprehensive Plan Update:
Comprehensive Plan Public Hearing to present draft comprehensive plan to the Town Board on September 21, 2010
The Town Board held joint Work Sessions with the Planning Board, at the regular public town board meetings on February 11th, March 11th, April 8th and May 13th, at which time each section of the draft plan was reviewed and discussed. In addition to the Town Board and Planning Board members, residents and other interested persons participated in the discussion. We received formal comments from the Library Board, Business Association, newly formed Pound Ridge Partnership, Housing Board and Fire Department.
Our Planning Consultant, David Stolman Principal with Fredrick P. Clark, is currently incorporating final statistical updates and formatting the plan sufficiently for us to consider adoption.
There is still opportunity for Public and Community input as we move through the Comprehensive Plan Adoption Process. Please check current news and our town calendar on the town web site for the actual dates, but here is the tentative schedule:
· July 8th Town Board Meeting receive final draft comprehensive plan, incorporating comments received during the public work sessions and from our planning consultant, and consider scheduling a public hearing by the Comprehensive Plan Committee, to consider recommending that the town board adopt the plan.
· July 29th Comprehensive Plan Committee Public Hearing, to be held at the Town House at 8pm.
· August 5th Town Board Meeting receive formal recommendation from the Comprehensive Plan Committee and consider scheduling a Public Hearing to consider adoption of the plan.
· September 21sy Town Board Public Hearing to consider adoption of the Comprehensive Plan.
