About Us

Town of Pound Ridge New York Official Website

Managing the Town budget remains one of our most important responsibilities. The 2011 budget includes a 3.4% increase in the tax rate for the Town. We continue our commitment to manage our money wisely, but this does not come without a concentrated effort by your town volunteers and staff.

I extend thanks and appreciation to my fellow town board members, Jon Powers our Deputy Supervisor, Steve Conti our Director of Finance and all of our town department heads and employees, who continuously monitor and evaluate their efficiencies to minimize spending.

And we owe special thanks to our resident volunteers who are the essence of our ability to provide extended town services with minimal costs. These include residents who are: Members of our Planning Board, Zoning Board, Water Control Commission, Conservation Board, Historic Landmarks Commission, Recreation Commission, Open Space Acquisitions Committee, Board of Ethics, Board of Assessment Review, Drug Abuse Prevention Council, Office of Emergency Management, Housing Board, various other advisors and ad-hoc committees; And those with related organizations such as the Lions Club, Neighbor-to-Neighbor, Neighbors and Newcomers Club, Girl and Boy Scouts, Garden Club, Fire Department and Ambulance Corps; And those who run our numerous active recreation programs.

Please consider becoming a volunteer in a program in which you have interest and expertise. The future of our community depends on it.
