Westchester Power Community Energy Program
Westchester Power is a Community Choice Aggregation program run by the non-profit Sustainable Westchester, offering eligible residents and small businesses in the Town of Pound Ridge a fixed-rate, renewable electricity supply as an alternative to the local utility's variable, fossil-fuel-based rates. The next 24-month term begins on December 1, 2025, with opt-out letters sent in October and the opt-out period running from October 25 to November 24, 2025. The program’s new rates are 11.749¢/kWh for 50% renewable energy and 12.231¢/kWh for 100% renewable energy, with Constellation NewEnergy as the supplier and 50% renewable set as the default option. Participation is automatic unless you opt out, and residents can change their supply option or opt back in at any time without penalties. While the program rates are higher than the past NYSEG averages, they support New York State’s clean energy goals. More information is available at sustainablewestchester.org/wp/nyseg.
