Bedford-Pound Ridge Stands with Ukraine

Bedford-Pound Ridge Stands with Ukraine

In a united effort to support the Ukraine, a group of concerned residents from the Bedford-Pound Ridge area have organized an online fundraiser, called Bedford-Pound Ridge Stands with Ukraine, to help provide immediate aid to displaced families and other civilians affected by the recent humanitarian crisis. All monetary donations will go to the International Rescue Committee (IRC), which has identified over two dozen NGOs responding to critical needs on the ground. Hosted by the Pound Ridge Human Rights Advisory Committee and with support from the IDEAcommittee of Bedford, NY, the community fundraiser will also feature a candlelight vigil in Scotts Corners at 7:00 pm on Monday, March 7 (at the corner of Westchester Avenue and Trinity Pass), during which residents can gather to stand in solidarity and also drop off donations of humanitarian supplies. Supplies will be donated to the Yonkers-based Afya Foundation to ship to the frontlines. View the supply list at here or alternately, purchase items from the Amazon Wish List here to send directly to Afya.

Many thanks to all the local women spearheading this effort including Sonia Kaur Bain, Cassie Coccaro, Jennifer Katritos, Andrea Soleiman, Tami McCarthy, Amy Hollander, Nell Shapiro, Jill Becker, and Andromeda Turre Klein, as well as to Bedford and Pound Ridge leadership for their support!
