Welcome Letter

Congratulations on your decision to live in Pound Ridge, New York. You'll find that Pound Ridge is a welcoming and exciting place to live. Adults and children enjoy all that our community has to offer, from schools to shops, from parks to clubs. You name it, we have it or it’s at least very close by!  We encourage community communication and involvement and want to provide you as much information as possible to get you acclimated.

First, always feel comfortable emailing or calling your elected Town Officials and Town Employees with questions. Most have been residents or worked for the town for many years. They understand the anxiety of moving to a new community, a new house, living on a large parcel of land, connecting with neighbors you might not be able to see and making new friends. They can also help you get answers to questions about how your well works, how to find your septic tank, when do you need a permit to do work on your house, can you fence your property, and other home improvement or security topics.

Since Pound Ridge is considered suburbia, it is important to understand that our utilities are a tad bit less dependable then those in more populated areas. Hence, it is strongly encouraged that you connect to the town’s email blasts and the Office of Emergency Management Code Red program, so we can text, email, or call you in the event of road closures, power outages, and other emergencies.

To learn more about the Town and what this community has to offer, please take a few minutes and familiarize yourself with our Town Website.
