Youth Soccer

Youth Soccer

Pound Ridge Youth Soccer wants everyone to love soccer as much as we do. We believe that young players will learn and develop at a faster rate when enjoying their time on the soccer field. With that in mind we encourage our players to play with a smile whilst remaining focused at all times. Our main objective is to improve every player.

Ultimately, we want to foster a environment and program that pushes and creates not only great soccer players, but great people. We want all players to be comfortable on the ball, confident in what they are doing and have the freedom to express themselves, and improve within a safe environment. We believe so many valuable life lessons can be achieved through sports, especially soccer. We want our players to grow with us and be a part of the Pound Ridge soccer family

BIO

Hailing from Liverpool England, Leigh moved to America at a young age growing up in Darien, CT. It is here he fell in love with the game. Leigh became a highly accomplished, decorated player in high school, and upon graduating was offered an elite opportunity to play in England. After that journey came to an end, Leigh parlayed his talents into coaching. The sport that gave him so much quickly became his career. Now, with over 20 years of coaching experience, he is heading into his 14th season running the Darien High School girls soccer program and is the founder of All Star FC. Having recently moved from Manhattan to Pound Ridge with his family, Leigh is excited to help grow the sport in is new hometown.
