Drug Abuse Council

The Drug Abuse Prevention Council is three-town cooperative effort to implement science-based prevention strategies that focus on increasing protective factors and decreasing risk factors associated with alcohol and drug abuse in individuals, families and communities.  The Council is comprised of members from each of the three participating towns including Bedford, Lewisboro, and Pound Ridge. The Council provides:

  • Research-based information on drugs and alcohol including how to identify alcohol and drug abuse and how it affects families and communities;
  • Public forums on important topics and issues related to alcohol and drug abuse prevention;
  • Resources for intervention; and
  • Strategies for prevention.

In addition, the Council works to address the primary and underlying causes of alcohol and drug abuse. 

The Drug Abuse Prevention Council is a five-member board serving two-year terms.  The Council meets monthly.  The Council is supported by a Program Coordinator.  For more information, please visit the Council’s website at http://www.thedapc.org.
