Electric Yard Equipment

Replacing gas-powered yard equipment with electric reduces our carbon footprint and harmful air pollution. Not to mention it is quieter to operate and easier to maintain without the need for oil, spark-plugs and tune-ups. It's better for the operators' health and the environment. If you're looking to purchase a mower, leaf blower, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, or chainsaw, go electric!

Reducing the usage of leaf blowers is also beneficial to the environment. Using alternatives like mulch-mowing leaves instead will also feed your lawn and reduce the need for fertilizers.

You can also opt for a "green" landscaper that uses electric equipment, or ask your landscaper to go electric and/or mulch-mow.

If you use a landscaper, please be aware that Pound Ridge has restrictions on when the commercial operation of gas-powered leaf blowers can be used. Internal combustion leaf blowers cannot be used between May 15 and October 15. As well as during the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday; from 6:00 p.m. on Saturday until 8:00 a.m. on Monday; and on all holidays.
