Pound Ridge is committed to preserving the beauty of our community through sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency measures that offer environmental as well as financial benefits for both residents and businesses. The Town of Pound Ridge Energy Action Committee has been at the forefront of this movement to achieve these goals.

We are proud to announce that the Town of Pound Ridge has joined many municipalities across the county to participate in Westchester Power, a program of Sustainable Westchester.  Essentially a bulk purchasing program, residents and small businesses can now get their electricity supply at competitive and stable fixed-rates while increasing the use of renewable energy.

Our town selected the green option (100% renewable wind power) as the default supply. There are two options: a basic supply and green supply.  All town residents have the ability to switch between options or opt out of the program altogether.

But we hope you will stay in the program. Why?  Because the Westchester Power program has, since its launch in May 2016, demonstrated considerable results, saving customers over $11.9 billion, serving over 1.28 billion kilowatt-hours, and most significantly, avoiding in excess of 288,678 tons of carbon dioxide.

NYSEG customers enrolled in the Westchester Power Community Choice Aggregation Program are now supplied by Constellation.  Direct Energy was the supply company in the program effective May 1, 2019-November 30, 2020. Beginning December 1, 2020 Eligo Engergy was the supplier and NYSEG will continue to provide delivery and billing. And now Constellation Energy starting in 2022.
