Electronic Waste Recycling

Electronic Waste Recycling

E-waste must be recycled in NY and can no longer be thrown into the trash. The new law went into effect on January 1, 2015 and covers computers, televisions, VCRs, DVD players, and gaming consoles as well as cords, monitors, computer mice, and other accessories.  For an interactive map and a list of e-waste recycling centers organized by county go to http://www.dec.ny.gov/chemical/66872.html.  The Pound Ridge recycling facility is on the list.

Electronics manufacturers have to accept their own products for recycling as well as products from other brands if the customer is purchasing a similar item.
